What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I think that personally, the most enjoyable aspect of tutoring is seeing prolonged growth in an individual academically, particularly in a subject that said individual felt that they were weak in, is very gratifying. That moment when everything clicks and the student surpasses their own expectations is truly a moment to cherish.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my biggest strength would be my patience. I have no issue explaining a difficult concept to a student continuously until they themselves can explain to me what they just did. I do not mean to boast but I feel as if I have a penchant for explaining things and that combined with my patience means that a student seldom goes home without learning what is required of them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Personally, the best thing a tutor can do for a student is change their perspective regarding their weak subjects, Mathematics in particular has always been a favorite of mine yet I have had students who used to start sweating whenever we pulled out the textbook. However, once they realized that Mathematics can actually be quite fun, their apprehension of lessons later turned into anticipation.

Student did not do homework. Student still struggles with doing long division in conventional way. His mental way of doing it leads to no working shown and mistakes that he cannot rectify as he has not done any work outs. Needs to be more comfortable with the multiples of 2, 3 and 5 and they come in very handy with simplification of fractions. Student also tried to reduce tutoring hours as school break is ongoing
Student is great at usage of commas. Impeccable spelling for the most part. Did Math homework diligently with no errors.

Sentence structure needs improvement. Student tends to write really long sentences that do not stop. The grammar is great for the most part but the sentences themselves tend to carry on. There is some confusion regarding the use of comparative and superlative words. Needs to elaborate when answering essay comprehension questions. Revised long division method for math too but it is clearly obvious that student is not comfortable with the new system. Gave homework to try and help with understanding, hoping to rectify his understanding by next session.
Student is great at mental arithmetic. Learns quickly if given proper guidance. Excelled at BIDMAS problems.

Needs to work on showing working for sums. Student is too dependent on doing sums mentally and runs into issues because of it. Taught a more conventional method of long division that shows all steps, needs more practice to ensure student follows the new method instead of depending on his older method that put more emphasis on doing the math in his head. Need to build confidence in writing and showing working out steps directly on the question paper. Touched on basic algebraic expressions but need more time to assess student's capability in said equations.
