What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping students, but most importantly I try to help students develop an interest in what they are learning. For instance, I have volunteered with an organisation called Canada Learning Code that aims to provide STEM education to young people all across Canada. I focused on working with young girls to help them take an interest in STEM technologies, especially programming. I found that if students took an interest in the content, it accelerates their learning. I lead workshops surrounding low-level programming with engaging projects such as creating video games on Scratch.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor include patience, excellent communication skills, and strong work ethic. I am a Canadian high school graduate and I am currently studying at the University of Adelaide as a Mechanical Engineering student. I have a keen interest in mathematics and science and I hope to help others in these subject areas as well. As a tutor, I adapt my lessons and support to meet each individual student's needs to create the most optimal result.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing is to create a learning environment where the student feels comfortable and engaged in receiving and participating in academic learning. Consistency and patience can reinvent a subject and allow the student to be more receptive to the content that is being taught. As the student continues to improve, they will develop an interest in the subject and will start to seek out knowledge and learning on their own.
