What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As a person, I really enjoy helping people to see things from a different perspective. Now that is a rather philosophical statement but I believe it can be connected to tutoring as well. As a tutor you are providing your students with a different way to think about problems. You are a guide to help students reach their goal. I think its the process of helping students navigate through different ways of thinking and challenges throughout their studies is what I enjoy most. It is quite satisfying to help a student approach a set of problems in a more successful manner.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I would say that my broader focused approach to teaching students is what is my primary strength. As a tutor, I see my job as not just to ensure that a student can come up with the correct answer to a certain question. My approach is to provide them with a toolkit to assess a problem and then select what is the appropriate solution. This approach encourages students to think of their studies in a more holistic way, in a way that is more applicable to their live today in school and in the future.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

One of the most important things a tutor can do is to support the student providing them confidence to tackle the task in front of them. Second to this I think is to provide them a roadmap of how to deal with a situation where they don't know the answer or the approach to the question. Teaching that not knowing the answer to the question is ok and that it is important to know what the next step in this situation is. How you are able to figure something out. Just as in the classroom, not every student or every person knows the answer.
