What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love building up a good connection with the students because it is easier for them to share their passions, strengths and areas for further improvement. It gives me more time to specify the content they need to gain practice of. I am passionate about helping them achieve their goals and I find this rewarding for both of us.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I can give meaningful feedback and adjust the lesson if I notice a student is missing a learning step or extend their learning with more challenging content if they are progressing towards a mastery of it.
I am enthusiastic about reading and I am confident I can make these lessons exciting by focusing on the action in the plot by examining the words.
I am confident I can make maths interesting with practical examples with games and encouraging use of the maths vocabulary to think critically about the content.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe a great tutor builds a strong bond with their pupils by personalising the lessons with content they enjoy. For example in the past I used reading books about superheros to engage a student struggling with learning or gave structured outlines to complete. I am confident I can use my experience to explain the content with pictures, words and give real world examples that they will engage with .

He was able to remember the new spelling words. He created his own sentences and they had good simple grammar. He understood the past tense-played and knew when to use 'ed' at the end of a verb if I said a verb.
He needs to regular practice using the new words written and sound out the words he is unfamilar with.
