What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The satisfaction of finally understanding a concept/equation/theory in school is what propelled me do well. To be able to work with children and teenagers and finally help them get to that “ahhhhh†moment of understanding is incredibly rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Growing up, I was never considered a naturally gifted student. I believe that once a student understands how they learn and what works for them, they won’t need me any longer. I feel that I have the skillset to not only help students understand key concepts but also equip them with studying methods/tactics that I utilised all throughout high school. Having had over 2 years of informal tutor experience, from ages 8 to 16, I believe I am incredibly patient and am able to adapt my teaching to fit each individual’s unique learning style.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Reiterating what I have already mentioned, the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them HOW to learn and HOW to tackle future difficult areas of study. Of course I will work through any problem that they struggle with and provide the correct answer/solution/etc. but I hope to teach them that when they come across a future novel/difficult question, how to utilise prior skills and knowledge to have the confidence to tackle it. I think confidence is often what prevents students from excelling.
