To foster the love of learning and aid in filling gaps where areas that need foundation is lacking. I am great at figuring out how students learn. This I believe is my best trait as a teacher. I thoroughly believe that learning stems of inspiration, passion and want in students. Bringing all those traits towards learning will foster love of…

Business Studies Tutor Kingsholme, QLD
I think that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be understanding of the student and the student's circumstances and best adapt to the student's schedule and learning method. I think that the tutor must learn to adapt to how the student studies and learns and try to find the best method or technique that will help the…

Business Studies Tutor Coomera, QLD
I would consider the most important thing to be giving them the confidence in their own abilities. I think it can be very easily for kids to doubt themselves but having a tutor can give them nourishing support that will help them in the subject and hopefully extend outside of that as well. My flexibility allows the lesson to flow in different…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to equip them with the confidence they require to suceed academically. Ultimately the role of the tutor is to facilatate the child's learning. Instilling a sense of belief in the child's self will ultimately allow them to suceed in their goals. I am extremely patient. In addition my work…

Meeting the tutor was very exciting for my daughter, she felt very comfortable with the tutor and the meet up went well. Looking forward to future sessions and the improvement it will make.

Inside PimpamaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Milly worked on multiplying decimals (such as 0.3 Ă— 0.05) and converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers, using homework corrections for practice.

Year 8 student went through mean, median, and mode in data interpretation, also learning to reformat questions involving the mean to find missing values.

For a Year 9 student, sessions included area calculations for composite shapes like triangles and rectangles as well as applying formulas for the area of cylinders.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8, one student repeatedly forgot to refer back to formula sheets during algebra revision, which meant she lost marks for misapplied rules—"needs to use the formula sheet and be more confident writing answers," a tutor noted.

In Year 11, anxiety after missing school led another student to leave diagrams unfinished in geometry problems; this hesitation was especially clear when tackling surface area tasks.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 student struggled with organizing her calculations on the page, causing confusion when reviewing long division steps.

During a Year 10 fractions session, hunger and low motivation made it hard for him to stay focused—mistakes crept in as attention drifted.

Recent Achievements

One Pimpama tutor noticed a Year 8 student who used to rush through division now pauses to double-check her steps and has started catching her own careless mistakes—something she rarely did before.

In Year 10, a student who was previously hesitant with area formulas now remembers them independently and confidently applies them when working on composite shapes.

Another recent win from a Year 5 session: after struggling with multiplication tables, the student surprised both herself and her tutor by reciting the full 3x, 7x, and 8x columns from memory without prompting.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Upper Coomera Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Lutheran Ormeau Rivers District School.
