English Tutor O'malley, ACT
Tutors are useful in the way that if a student didn’t understand how something was explained in class, we can offer different and more in depth explanations to help them achieve this understanding. Ensuring a student feels comfortable enough to ask questions is the most important thing a tutor can do in my opinion. That I am supportive, positive…

Local Reviews

Ms. Suhavi, whose exceptional tutoring sessions have had an immensely positive impact on my daughter's academic journey, particularly in mathematics. Ms. Suhavi's tutoring sessions have been nothing short of outstanding. Since my daughter began her lessons with her, there has been a remarkable improvement in her mathematical abilities. Previously, my daughter struggled with various mathematical concepts, but under Ms. Suhavi's guidance, she has not only overcome these challenges but has also developed a deep understanding of the subject matter. In summary, Ms. Suhavi is an excellent tutor whose expertise, dedication, and passion for teaching have made a significant difference in my daughter's academic journey. We feel incredibly fortunate to have her support, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking exceptional tutoring services.

Inside CalwellTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Jack focused on solving quadratic equations, including both factorising and applying the quadratic formula.

Year 9 student Emily worked through boxplots and scatter plots to interpret data visually, and also practiced solving inequalities.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Marcus concentrated on simultaneous equations using substitution, along with techniques for expanding binomials and factorising expressions.

Recent Challenges

One Year 11 student arrived without having completed any extra exam revision since the last session; this lack of independent study slowed progress in building confidence with older material.

In a separate Year 9 maths session, "she needs to format her questions and answers a little better"—messy working made it harder to spot and fix errors in algebraic problems.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student repeatedly mixed up methods for perimeter and area when distracted, often drifting off-topic during explanations.

In English (Year 10), paragraphs were left underdeveloped, as he struggled to consolidate ideas into clear, structured arguments.

Recent Achievements

One Calwell tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 10 student who used to hesitate with simultaneous equations—this time, he confidently spoke up when something didn't make sense and worked through each step until it clicked.

Another high schooler, previously reluctant to plan essays, took the lead by drafting WW2 essay outlines independently and tackling more complex questions without waiting for prompts.

Meanwhile, a Year 3 student who struggled with mental addition now solves larger sums swiftly and even enjoys drawing objects to check his work. In the latest session, he finished every addition problem accurately on his own.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Erindale Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Calwell Primary School.
