My Strengths as Tutor 💪
- I use lesson plans and set goals for the future ie. anticipation of a end-of-semester exam or that test that examines certain outcomes.
- I use visual aids, props, study guides and suitable classroom texts/ secondary resources in helping students understand concepts.
- I can relate to what teenagers and children go through and can provide advice on time management, stress, and offer encouragement/motivation to persevere (since I did the "suicidal 6" myself).
- I am good at breaking down concepts and explaining to students my approach in tackling a particular topic or type of question.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
- A tutor must encourage and motivate a student to continue learning and trying.
- A tutor should be able to answer 80% of questions that are presented by a student. If there is something that cannot be solved during the session, the tutor has the responsibility to follow it up and research the topic that the student is having a difficulty with, and provide a solution at the next session.
- A tutor should be able to "clear up" issues/problems that the student has in regards to what he/she learnt in class and make sure that the student understands the concept or topic.
