What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The thing I most enjoy about tutoring is the moment you realise that a student is beginning to understand the content. There is something quite special about talking to someone who previously may have not known how to go about a problem being able to work through that problem and others like it without struggle. I strongly believe that the passing on of knowledge from one person to another is both a powerful and rewarding endeavour for both parties

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Because I am deeply passionate about the subjects that I am willing to tutor, I am more than willing to go into the nitty-gritty of how and why you approach a problem rather than just what the solution to that problem is. I am fascinated in the fundamental structures underlying why something is true and why an answer is what it is. This means that irrespective of a student's understanding, I will be able to work at their level and help build those structures to ensure that in future, daunting problems become something that they can be break down and truly understand.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that the purpose of tutoring is not just to make the student better at a given subject (although of course that too is important) but rather to teach them the skills that they need to approach problems in all of their subjects and even beyond school to life as a whole. The ability to look at a maths problem and know the correct formula to apply to solve it is one thing, but knowing why that formula works and how you would approach such a question without relying on blind application is a skill that goes beyond just the question itself and can result in a deeper appreciation as well.
