What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
What I most enjoy about tutoring is the satisfaction of helping others understand and realise new concepts, along with overcoming challenges; it is wonderful seeing a student successfully tackle difficult tasks they are unfamiliar with. There is also the sense that you will leave some form of impact upon your student, so fulfilling the role as a positive mentor is once again satisfying to do.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
When tutoring, I always try to keep my explanations direct and easy to understand, usually through simplifying a concept. However, I am also eager to provide extra information surrounding the topic at hand, as a means of offer a holistic perspective said topic (e.g describing mine and other various methods of solving a question to further the student's understanding). These aspects of my teaching method are combined with consistent kindness and patience in my behaviour, therefore contributing to my strengths as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
One important aspect of a tutor is to be a positive role model. This requires maintaining appropriate behaviour which makes students to feel at ease in their learning environment, as well as setting an example. Being patient and attentive towards students' needs are therefore essential. Another feature should be to provide students with ideas for what they want to do in the future. Making assessments on their capabilities and interests, as well as offering insights into how their subjects can be used in practice, prompts students to question how they want to contribute to the world.
